About

Hello and welcome to Faith, Family & Frosting! My name is Alison and I am so glad you are here.  I am a follower of Jesus, wife, mother of two beautiful girls and I love all things creative! Baking, decorating, knitting, crafting, painting, you name it!

I am a special education teacher turned stay at home mom.  After teaching for seven years in the public school system, I have now decided to tackle the great task of homeschooling my own children.  (A decision I NEVER thought I would make, by the way!)

Right after my husband and I decided it was time for me to stop teaching and stay home with our then two year old daughter, Joe was laid off from his job.  So there we were, both unemployed, and having to deeply trust in God to find our way.

It was then that I began baking as a way to generate some income for our family.  God took us on an amazing, scary, but exciting two year journey and now we have landed in a wonderful place!  I have learned a lot over the last few years.  God is good, even when our circumstances are not.  Being a stay at home mom is FANTASTIC!  And exhausting… But I would’t trade it for the world.  And life is always better with a bit of frosting!

As a mother, I have found it difficult to find the time and energy needed to keep my creative side alive and thriving.  I hope to share with you tips, tricks, and tutorials to help your creative juices flow despite all the hectic, busy-ness that comes with the mom life! I will also be sharing ways I infuse my faith and family life with a little creativity.  It may surprise you how simple it can be!  Please join me as I add a little frosting on top of life!
